FAQs

What is Central Valley Medical Group (CVMG)? Is CVMG a health insurance plan?

CVMG is an IPA, an Independent Physician Association, a group of independent physicians who practice within Stanislaus County. CVMG is not a health plan; it is a network of doctors that accept certain health plans. In order to “join” CVMG, a member must choose a doctor within the CVMG network and then designate CVMG as their Medical Group through the health plan. That way, a member can take full advantage of the services and benefits offered under plans CVMG accepts. Use the physician search tool on our website to find out which physicians are part of CVMG or call CVMG at (209) 573-7401.

If CVMG is a Sutter Medical Network Member, does that mean I can see Sutter Gould Medical Foundation physicians and labs

When a member joins CVMG, that member has access to Sutter Medical Network facilities and in some cases, its physicians. Your CVMG doctor must provide a referral to see Sutter Medical Network physicians or facilities. Use the physician search tool on our website to find out which physicians are part of CVMG or call CVMG at (209) 573-7401.

How much does CVMG Cost?

Your health plan determines your premiums, benefits, copays, and drug costs. CVMG is not a health plan. It is a network of doctors that contracts with your plan to provide you with a network of physicians and services to help meet your medical needs.

Do you take Medi-Cal, Medi-Medi, or Blue Cross?

VMG accepts several HMO commercial and Medicare Advantage plans, but is not a provider for Medi-Cal or Medi-Medi. Call (209) 573-7401 to find out which plans CVMG accepts.

Are you affiliated with the new Central Valley Rehabilitation Hospital that just opened in Modesto?

No. CVMG is an Independent Physician Association of physicians and is not a health plan or a hospital.
